We were thrilled to have a strong contingent from Kids for aBetter Future at the 2015 Readathon, and we’re excited to find ways to work together.  KBF was founded nine years ago by a group of 3rd graders led by Akash Mehta and Natassia Walley and a number of their friends. All the original members of KBF are now in their senior year and will soon be off to college. But they wanted KBF to continue, and so they decided to bequeath their organization to current 3rd graders including Akash's younger brother Satya. Akash and Natassia have been mentoring the younger KBF members all year. The younger members decided to support The Malala Fund this year with activities including participation in the Girls Read for Girls Readathon, a screening of He Named me Malala (with popcorn of course!), and more.

We couldn't have done it without you!

He Named Me Malala - Film Screenings Coming Soon!

We are very excited about the upcoming release of He Named Me Malala - a documentary film that tells the inspiring story of Malala's family and their fierce commitment to girls education.  This a great opportunity to learn more about what we can do to add our voices to her call for girls to take action.

Click here for a review of the social action campaign that will happen in tandem with these upcoming screenings.

The film is set to premier in early October -- please check back soon for more information about Brooklyn locations.

Meeting Malala!

We were so honored to have the opportunity to meet Malala and her father on Friday, June 19th. What an amazing experience and we are inspired to continue to support her and her work. Please contribute to the Malala Fund on behalf of your father!

Thank you to Women for Afghan Women for all of their amazing work, and to the Iscol Family Foundation for allowing us into their home.
